door to door charity workers

Do people really give all there bank details to a complete stranger that knocks on your door then flashes a charity badge at you. If so you are bonkers. Please send all your details to me. I will gladly take money from you a month and promise it will only be £2 per month. With the world we live in there is always someone trying to make a quick buck from robbing other. Door to door should be made illegal. And older people shouldn't be made to feel vulnerable answering there own door.

When I answer the door, I give them 30 seconds to tell me what they are selling or what they want, if I'm happy to get into a conversation with them I do, if not the door is slammed shut :thup:

They're lucky if they get 5 seconds at mine🙅

My local ASDA forever has salesman pitched outside the store , from AA (who always seem quite polite) to Virgin/Sky/TalkTalk trying to sell internet. These always seem full on and quite intimidating to some people.

I passed one bloke last Saturday and the exchange went as this;

Salesman: Morning sir, whos your internet provider
Me: 'Virgin'
Salesman: 'Ahhh mate i can half your monthly bills no problem if switch to us'
Me: 'I havent even told you what my monthly bill is'
Salesman: 'Ahhh but yes, we always have an offer on here, let me talk you through some details'

As this, my partner says we're not interested and drags my arm towards the entrance of Asda.

I only went in for milk and bread so was about 5 mins tops and as i walk out the door the salesman says

'excuse me sir, can i ask what internet provider you're with'
Me: 'I haven't changed in the space of 5 mins'

He looked bemused and said: 'thats not a problem sir, we can half your monthly bill...if i can just go through some details with you'

First thing I ask for is ID. I'll usually give them 20-30 seconds for their pitch. If I'm not convinced I usually say I'm calling the charity to verify ID. That gets rid of many. The rest I tell them no politely. Less politely if they keep going
