Just a question. I had to carry today due to trolley ban and the guys I was playing with removed a few clubs. I just don't see the point if its to save weight do 2 or 3 clubs make a great different. Now I could of copied them but why play a knock down/ half shot with say 6 iron when I could just use my 7. One of the guys I played with plays off 26 so when he took 3 clubs out I was shocked he could of done with adding another 10 clubs coz he played that bad. What I did was just had 3 balls in bag half dozen tees no umbrella and wore my waterproof trouser + my clubs.what do you do

If tbey're doing it to save weight then it's not.going.to make much difference at all. Waste of time.
If tbey're doing it to try to improve shot-making/manipulation of shots then fair deal - it's not.something I would subscribe to.

Pretty similar, played today had a pencil bag with 6 clubs 3 balls 1 glove a handful of tees and a bottle of water. Round in 3 hr pace, perfect!
Only 6 clubs our course is not playing any shorter so need all mine I would no have a clue what clubs to leave out.let alone remove 8

Ours is full length too, played the full 6650yds today, all 18 tees still on the backs, just have bigger gaps between each club and take a bit off or add a bit on :)

Played today, full trolley bag, full set, loadsa balls/kit, rou.d in 2 1/2......

Trolleys allowed at ours too but rather carry when its a bit muddy out, that said course was in far better condition than I was expecting. Few wet bits marked off but other than was relatively dry in most spots

Yes was today mate, its way way better than expected and should be fine for the weekend, only downside is the forecast for the next few nights is for it to go below freezing so it may be pretty frosty (im told it was at 9am today but had cleared when we went out)

PS Not sure how early youll be able to get out if playing Saturday as theres a pretty full list for the medal

We're playing at a course this weekend which is carry only due to the wet ground (which I agree with)! So I'm planning to take a half set in a pencil bag because it will weigh half as much + as a carry bag with a full set - won't it?? I'm not a weakling but am quite small and light and have barely ever carried as the bags seem bigger and heavier than I am. So I'm thinking putter, driver, 5 wood, 5 iron, 7 iron, 9 iron and gap wedge. Plus half a dozen balls and the tees I'll use in my pocket. Wear my waterproofs and carry a drink and bar.

Carry all year round! So would never have a full set if I did take clubs out for carrying! Do sometimes take the even or odd irons out when playing a bounce game during the winter for manufacturing practice!
