I'm going to assume there is a DIY expert or two among us.

Combi boiler is occasionally dropping below 0.5 bar, I noticed the pressure needle is moving more than it used to so guessing the expansion vessel needs a recharge. Gone through a full check of potential issues and this fits the bill best as my conclusion was system was not fully accounting for heating/cooling of the water in line with demand/cooling of CH.

I had a look through the manuals and TBH taking off two covers and exposing all the gas and leccy parts is a bit daunting.

I do also fear the bill of getting someone in...

Anyone done it on a modern Combi, if got someone in how did it go?

I’ve changed a few. What model of combi do you have?

Depending on model of boiler and location of said boiler I’d fit an external one.

This is the first issue in 4 years, might consider getting cover if this one costs a pretty penny or two!

Baxi Potterton Promax Combi 24

Its in the kitchen and fairly easy access

shows it all open but boy is that intimidting for a first timer!

I got stuck at the draining bit as mine looks nothing like that.

We had an external one fitted same time as we had annual service , was #230 Al told , parts region of £90

That isnt too bad, I just need a recharge so hope they can just do it for labour costs.

Not had it serviced last year so prob wrap it all into one callout.

The vessels on the promax combis are behind the boiler iirc. Nightmare.

My advice is get a pro in. If your not sure go on the gas safe website and you’ll be able to find someone local to you.

If you want anymore advice give us a shout/pm.

We have a local company that the in-laws have used for 20+ years so we use them too, not always the cheapest but knows the stuff. Been good to us in the past so earnt repeat custom.
