Normally yes. 1" tip trim for a 3 wood, then cut to length from the butt end. 2" tip trim for 5 wood, then butt cut to length.

Well, shafts are made in different weights but all the same length.

So buy the shaft at the weight you require, do the measuring, trimming, glue it all together and you're ready to go!

I have 2 NV Protopype beasts in my Shire bag. 60gm one for the Driver; 70gm one for the 3-wood.

Could actually be interesting playing there on Monday. Auditioning a 43gm shafted R flex SL290 Driver which requires me to resist going at it but a good crack gives best results with the 3-wood (generally the club that goes best)!

I was talking about an off the shelf fairway shaft not a cut down driver shaft.

As an example. The Fubuki in my Driver is a 64g shaft. The fair way wood has a 74g shaft.

i knew thats wot you meant, interestingly the callaway range can have the same weight in driver and fairway
