Anyone able to recommend someone in the Manchester area who could fit a putter shaft, Taylormade spider centre shaft, looking at a 35"

Can you not just get the grip blown and a shaft plug installed? You can buy the plugs themselves from eBay for a couple of quid.

In answer to the OP - the pro at virtually any golf club. It is part of their training.
I would expect cost to be around £50, allowing for a standard grip and extra if you use something like a Superstroke.
If it has any sort of insert in the face there could be some concern about doing it in the first instance.
