Did you win?

Won a bounce game on Saturday against my old man at my place. Hit it well, particularly on the front 9, but scored poorly - if it had been a medal, I think I would have missed the buffer by 1. Airmailed four separate greens from inside 100 yards after hitting drives to distances I'd never reached before.

Didn't putt particularly well, though. The 'highlight' was 3 putting from 10 feet for a bogey on our 8th, S.I. 1, after hitting a career drive and a really good approach. Total waste of two good shots.

I won my 3rd round club matchplay knock-out on Sunday for the Mitchell Goblet, now in the semi-finals :D

Just a bounce game for me at the weekend. Current form remains good, a steady front 9 to play to my handicap but then 5 pars in a row on the second 9. Was hoping to play in a comp on Wednesday then found out that I had got the handicap divisions wrong (or they had been changed since last year). The one on Wednesday is for handicaps up to 17 (I am now on 17.5) and the comp last week was for 18-28. At least I remembered to check and have not wasted a day off work.

Still, medal on Saturday when, no doubt, my recent form and consistency will desert me.

Won the annual cricket club golf day on the Par 3 at Redbourne by 10 shots on Saturday.

Sunday I think I may have missed buffer by 1 shot after a mid round collapse.....:o

results just in... CSS went up 1 so made buffer.....actually came 4th.....so not too bad in the end.
The guy that won it with 39 has just got himself a set of ORKA irons...

Shot 88 for 36 points. Started Birdie, par, bogey, par and was thinking I could have a round going here. Flew the green on 5 with a 9 iron and found OOB and made 6, played well for the rest of the round but found water on 16,17 and a small forest of pine trees on 18 after missing the green 10 YRDS left (should of taken unplayable). Too may 3 putts but a decent round overall considering some of the trouble I was in on a few holes. Ball striking with irons was great and I hit the pin twice with pitches so I was happy at the end of the day.

won our 2nd round summer knockout, I was -8 when we finished it on 16th, second time out with g25's and it's like i'm a completely different player, always knew it was the clubs,

no i lost very badly, a guy from the club offered me a round to get my first score card in but he didnt turn up so i went round myself and walked off after the 4th and went for a lesson instead was that disgusted

5th with a gross 89, net 68. Happy days, broke 90 for first time and cut to 19.9. Officially a cat 3 golfer now. Onwards we go.

Our results aren't in yet but from the sounds of it I didn't win, didn't have a bad score, but didn't win.
My mate had his worst round ever shooting 15 over par net, 31 gross.
The only thing I can take away from my round is playing the back 9 7 over gross but the front nine was a nightmare.
Great weather, great company and my daughter winning on Sunday made up for it though.

Came second. Now I have to wait to see what points I scored in the order of merit table to get me off the mark.

29 points to come 16th in Division 1 of the monthly stableford. Not as bad as it sounds as I thought I struck it quite well but just couldn't put a score together and too many unforced errors. Better ball striking than recent weeks so a small plus

Had the worst round in ages and that's something considering how bad my last three rounds have been! Monthly medal shot a 60 on the front nine! Not done that in years! Ended up nring on the 11th as couldn't find my ball!

Yes....no and err yes. Enjoyed a great trip to North Berwick made even more enjoyable by a nett 62 and a nett 68. The best I have played in years. Put the cards in at my club and was cut by 3.1 shots. Played terribly in the club comp on Saturday, but won my society comp on Sunday! Quite a week!

I won twice last week on Wednesday and Thursday. First was at a swindle at Gog Magog with friends and business colleagues. Played well off 3 and had 4 birdies. Then on Thursday, I played in the Sussex Rugby Clubs Golf Championship for my son's club at Pyecombe GC. I don't like the course and it was blowing a gale so I wasn't hopeful of a good score but actually played well again, this time off 2, and our team won by 8 points. My partner (off a very useful 13) and I had 42 points better ball which, given the conditions, was very good and the best pairs score by some considerable margin.

I have a game this week too in Cheshire and am hoping to continue the good play.

3 rounds in 7 days is a real feat for me given that last Wednesday's round was only my 7th game of 2013. Might even have to join a club soon. :)

Can they do this?

The combination of a (Low) Cat 1 and around the 12-15 mark seems to be the ideal BB pairing.

The 'Steady Eddie' low guy is almost always making 2-pointers (occasional 3s) and 'Wild Willie' can string a good run of shots together quite often - with an occasional blow-out that doesn't matter.

Completely agree and 2 was our lowest score on any hole. And my 4 pointer on stroke index 1 didn't hurt!

On Thursday I am in a team of 4 with best 2 scores to count. Handicaps are 2, 4, 12 and 15. Should have a good chance.... It is always about dove tailing well in these things though.
