Did you win?

Still getting over an horrendous score the weekend before! (17 pts, killed by 3 off the tee) (not the chap on the forum) so consigned myself to range work only with the driver at the weekend

Need to figure out how to take the mental approach from the range onto the course (I tend to fall to bits recently when there's a score at stake)

Hope everyone else had a good one

bad weekend club champs in glorious weather, mjust shocking golf from me. The course was in good condition and the rough is getting long. No excuses for turning in a pair of 90's (+20).
71,71 i think won and one poor sole had a 9 on the last for a 71.

I came 11th in the centenary trophy with a nett 69. Nett 62 won  a guy off 9 shot 1 under gross.

Didn't win but did come 2nd in Div1 in Saturday's Stableford with 35pts. It was my 1st time out off of 7 and looks like I was lowest gross in windy conditions (CSS +1) Not too shabby despite the four 3-putts

My season hasn't really started yet. No golf last weekend, playing lesson this week and no golf next week (though it is my daughter's first birthday :D

very enjoyable and enlightening lesson Saturday and took my son down the course for a couple of hours on Sunday. He absolutely loves the game! No idea where he's got that from...

No comp's for me as my H/C is inactive, so set about getting three cards in ( again, did this a while ago but club lost 2 of them )

Friday shot a 94 with a silly 8 on a par 3 !! Saturday shot a 91, this time had 3 silly holes, 7,7,7, all par fours. Then yesterday played very well, shot an 88, the back 9 were the best I played in many a year, had 5 pars in the last 6 holes, now if only I had not taken a 7 on the 1 st hole then I would have had a cracking round.

Am I right in saying, as the cards are just to re-activate my H/C it will stay the same and not come down ?

If I rounded down the scores to doubles I would have had 88,88,86 ( course P71 sss69 )

A couple of points:

I assume that you are talking about submitting Supplementaries where you have notified your intention in advance with the card marked by a marker.

Your club should allow you to play in qualifying comps to regain active status but can prevent you from winning prizes.

Any rounding down in your Supplementaries are based on nett double bogeys.

Handicap adjustments are applied to Supplementaries.

No comp this weekend but did get relieved of £6.50 in a 4bbb match with the pro and a couple of lads.

We were 6 under after nine with our own ball (both receiving just one shot) and were 1 down stood on the 10th tee!!!! Just 2 under on the way back meant we lost 3&2 and 3 down in the birdie count.

The 11th hole was the only hole where a shot was dropped - 211 par 3 into a good 3 club wind meant we all made 4s.

Great game!!

Picked up the swindle money with 41pts. Haven't looked where I finished in the comp. Then to Notts golf club yesterday with Region3, Captainron & Full_throttle....... it wasn't pretty.

As discussed in another thread, I won 5 and 4 to progress to the second round of our matchplay. If it was stableford I would have recorded 43 points (63 Net - par 70). One of those days where almost everything I touched turned to gold (and that included 2 sevens as well).

The end of another weekend.
Did you win the medal/ s/ford?
Were there any horrendous scores in?

I doubt I won the Stableford I entered with 35 points.

I didn't hear of any horror storys while at the club afterwards, but then again it was just gone mid day when we finished so the bulk of the players would still be on the course. Results are normally posted on a Tueday, no doubt I'll finish mid-table.

I'm happy enough with buffer for now with all the changes I've made.

Have dwelled on Fridays debacle enough - gave up recording scores on 13.......

A new week - a new challenge!

Under the US h'cap system, you had Nett Pars on the remaining 5 holes so looking at the positives, it would have been a strong finish :D

If cards were Supplementary ones, then they are treated like competition cards with CSS = SSS. There is/was a specific process you have to go through for Supplementary rounds though and your may not have complied or your club may not allow all of them.

Remember that it's Nett double bogie. Easier to consider Stableford score, and in your case, 39+ points = cut; less than 34 points = +0.1 (up to 20.4).

No!

County champs on Sat 18 hole at Nairn then 18 at Nairn Dunbar.

First round at nairn was of the blue which are the very back tees ( same as used in the walker cup) shot 81 gross with 3 double and a treble. was lying 2nd with 74 net. the two guys i played with both NR'd who were also about the same handicap as me. Nots of NRs and high scores rough is now brutal and a hack out side ways.... if you find it that is!

The wind really picked up at Nairn dunbar in the afternoon. started well with a birdies on the first two holes, but that was a good as it got scoring wise. 3 putted every green after that for a gross 92:(. worse thing was i did't miss a fairway or green. The greens had stated to seed and were like putting on treacle.

the guys i played with in the afternoon shot 100 and 94 gross and thats there home club.

A very tough day and little sup the guy who won was off +1.

Club have said they will take the cards as I declared them before playing.

My Stapleford points for the rounds, after rounding down to double's (nett) were 39,38,41

Will have to wait until Wednesday to see what happens, so might even get a cut !!

I asked as I was told you cant get a cut when putting in Sup cards.

Thanks for the info
