Did Tiger do it again.....?

Is this whats it going to be like every time tiger hits one in the water?

The good news is that he doesn't hit it in the water that often.

Let's be honest, for all the estimating that we and the pros do about where ball crosses the margin, it's only that. An estimation.

Exactly, trying to work out where a ball that is traveling forwards, sideways and up and curving all at once at over 100mph crossed the hazard is hardly easy...

To me it's another haters gonna hate....

Woods now being contradicted by the Marshalls over his statement that he was told by them it was his turn to play when he put Garcia off. Not that I particularly care. The fact is that some of you on this forum think that Tiger is the best thing in the history of golf and others, like me for example, think that he is a charmless chav made good who promotes and denigrates the game in equal measure. These views cannot be compatible so there will be disagreements, simple as that.

But I would like to agree with Ethan when he comments on the label "hater" as used by some. The fact is that I don't hate any golfer and furthermore, I resent being labelled as such.

Saying "haters gonna hate" is just pathetic and it makes you sound like Serena Williams, fresh out of a session with her therapist. It means absolutely nothing, is over simplistic and contributes to American cultural imperialism too. Please pack it in.

Thanks.

It does look a little bit strange. But when his playing partner etc have all said it crossed up there and agreed a point of entry what is he meant to do. Perhaps woods never seen where it crossed last and was relying on their input?
He still went on to make double, I don't think his overall score would have been any better regardless of dropping there or further back, but it did look a bit iffy !

the real problem here is that 'dropping further back' is as wrong here as it was previously - he has to go with the best estimate and once that crossing point is agreed his options are now firm. There is no option to suggest that he will use a reference point another 20 yds back just in case; absolutely none.

if they have absolutely no basis for establishing where it crossed the hazard margin then he has to replay from where his last shot was taken (exactly, obviously :)) but here there was sufficient evidence to support the agreed point, even if some with alternative (but no better) views questioned it.

Am I right in thinking that the sufficient evidence comes from those who were actually there on the ground and that the alternative (but no better) views come from those who weren't?

Hater is bad but 'charmless chav' is OK?

"The fact is that some of you on this forum think that Tiger is the best thing in the history of golf...."

I don't think I've seen any/many forumers who think along those lines....

"The fact is that some of you on this forum think that Tiger is the best PLAYER in the history of golf"
..... perhaps.

Really??? You could had fooled me. I wonder how you do talk about someone that you DO hate?

C'mon, you're really a closet fan? You're in hardly in any other threads but seem to pop up in all the TW ones........hhhhmmm?

I don't hate anyone, let alone a golfer on TV that I have never met.

I don't think I regularly pop up anywhere with any kind of pattern. I try not to post in TW threads as it is pretty pointless. However it is difficult to resist putting a counter-argument to the sycophantic, rose tinted twaddle of Tiger fanboys.

And yet you still do. There are other members that don't warm to TW and yet don't find the need to reply. So you kinda do set up yourself to be called a 'Hater'.

I resent being labelled a 'Fanboy', I'm simply a golf fan and love watching and discussing golf. Please stop it. :whoo:

it's now impossible to disagree with anything without the lazy accusation 'haters gonna hate' being used. It's the oral equivalent of finger nails down a blackboard.

It's official Tiger is a knob !!

I don't understand the Tiger love in, he's a self confessed cheat & liar

Wow it amazes me how one sided you guys see things. It questions one's own character how you can come to a final conclusion so fast without knowing ALL facts. But I guess its too easy to go down the name calling route though.

May be that's part of his charm?

it's not a conclusion drawn from one incident, I'm sure Sergio could give him a character reference.

Apart from the intense will to win, what other redeeming traits does he have ?

That he plays golf better than anyone else on the planet? :D
:D

All right... all right... but apart from better sanitation and medicine and education and irrigation and public health and roads and a freshwater system and baths and public order... what have the Romans done for us?
