Did Tiger do it again.....?

If you see the proper angle it would show that it was a massive hook and it did indeed cross where he dropped it.

The video makes it look a bit fishy but without a view of the shot from behind, it is impossible to tell.

Wittenberg's statement to the press after the round:
“I saw it perfectly off the tee. I told him exactly where I thought it crossed, and we all agreed, so he’s definitely great on that. There is no doubt, guys. The ball crossed where he dropped.”

The video says the 14th played 481yds, I'm sure it played 461yds in the final round.

Of the rules official playing partners and even tv crew are happy at the time there can be no element of doubt although the clip doesn't look good.
To me it's another haters gonna hate....

Interesting.

It seems rather unlikely that the ball crossed the point where he took his drop. The US commentators on that clip seem to agree. Wittenberg said it crossed, but his view, from the tee, was rather unreliable because he couldn't see exactly where the ball crossed before hooking. He was also not likely to drop himself in it with the great man.

However, even if a bad drop, it is now protected by the rule, so end of story.

On a related point, I really find this constant chirping and moaning about haters very annoying, and it needs to stop. If we can't say a single critical thing about the most discussed player in golf without being labelled as a hater, then this forum should close down right now. Accusing people of being haters is a pretty pathetic response and suggests you haven't got anything of substance to say. If you can't find a better argument, then please just keep your opinion on haters to yourself.

Careful, you don't want to be labelled do you ;)

An awful lot of speculation and presumption in there.

It seems you agree more with the commentators that were sat in a box god knows where around the course relying on bad camera angles than Wittenberg that stood on the tee watching a ball that traveled no more than 200yds give or take.

Sources confirmed, the 14th was 461 yds and not the 481yds the video portrays.

Seems you agree with someone who saw something once, looking at ground level at a ball moving in 2 dimensions 200 yards odd away from them rather than a video which you can replay over and over.

Wittenberg was never going to be the guy who knifed Tiger's chances of winning that event.

Did you hear the commentators talk about where he was going to need to drop it? Guess not.

Sure if his playing partners and rules official agreed where it crossed what difference does it make if it was 5 yards out? Players can't be expected to look on a tv screen before every drop to make sure its perfect to the inch. They will be always be an element of a mistake in this situation.

Tiger followed the rules, dropping where he thought was the correct position. In the masters, he incorrectly moved and dropped. Two different situations.

when i watched the footage i thought he'd have to drop way back, but the commentators on sky at the time asked Howard Clark who was on the course, following tiger's group and presumably half way down the fairway. he said the drop seemed about right so I tend to go by his opinion.

i figure that the angle from SNoopy was misleading as it looked like tiger's ball last crossed land about 30 yards off the tee.

ultimately though he did double anyway didn't he?

Is this the same video replay taken from the Blimp? The same Blimp that was NOT directly above the hole or flight of ball. Someone mentioned the term ''Parallax'' which IMO, makes the footage an unreliable source.

For me, if I or a partner smashes one left or right into deep rough around the 200yd mark, 9 out of 10 times we will find the ball. Why?, because even at that distance we can determine where the ball crossed into the hazard. Hence successfully finding the ball, instead of looking in the wrong spots.

So now we are questioning Wittenberg/caddie's integrity? Has Tiger HATING now come down to this?;)
