I'm not taking anything away from a brilliant winning shot on the RC but do fellow GM Forumites think Jamie was aiming at the flag for his brilliant conclusion to the RC?

His opponent was long right and he only needed the par - surely centre of the green and two putts would have been the plan rather than go at a flag cut just on and next to a deep trap that have been prone for plugging all competition?

As I say, great result, but is it just me that thinks it could have been a very very good bad one?? I'm sure he'll never say but I wonder ;)

With a wedge in his hand he was aiming for the flag. In his interview he said that he had the perfect distance to it (the flag).

From that distance he was going for the flag. He was dormie with his oppo out of position. The worst that was gonna happen was he dumped it in the bunker from where he would probably make par anyway. If you can't fire straight at the flag in that situation, you shouldn't be there.

Are you joking? A pro with a wedge in hand. ( let's not even consider he's well on form, dormie on the match and his oppo not in a great position)
He was taking dead aim without a doubt

Of course he did he is welsh, so far this year we have seen the welsh flag waved in FA cup final by aaron ramsey, champions league final by gareth bale, and ryder cup by JD

He wrote on twitter last night he was aiming for the back of The green, slightly under hit it and it landed bang at the pin ! #NGT:swing:
