When you take a provisional, do you tell anyone what the change of ball is?
me? do I have to?

Well, an opponent or FC may well say that the only ball you found was your provisional.
Which is why I specifically used the word 'should'
6-5. Ball
The responsibility for playing the proper ball rests with the player. Each player should put an identification mark on his ball.
oh right
well mines the one with the blue sharpie line under my company logo and 2 smiley faces . which ones yours
Mine is the one with the blue sharpie line under a company logo and 2 smiley faces that I found in the rough last week![]()
Dont see the point, its not a piece of info i'd find useful and would be unlikely to be able to remember who said what on the tee.
Out of habit, I stand on the first tee and say "I'm playing a Taylormade/Titleist number whatever with blacked out numbers. Play well guys"
No big deal and a courtesy to others. I really cannot understand why people have an issue with simple things like this.
Me neither, but it seems many of you of seem to have areal hang up with the many who dont declare make and model etc.
No I don't think those that do it have a hang up as we are able to identify our ball so won't incur any unnecessary penalty strokes.
I wonder if those that don't mark their ball also 'forget' to declare when playing a provisional.
