So, after some consideration and watching car crash Britain, I've decided to get a Dash Cam.
What are folks recommendations ?
All I'm really looking for is something to cover my arse in the event of an accident and involving insurance companies.
Thoughts please.....

Set your budget and then buy the best you can.

Blackvue, MiWitness are at the top end but very capable. Halfords stock a few which would allow you to take a squint at their size and consider where it would fit in your car. If you want it to record location with GPS it will need sight of the sky to track and fix a signal.

Twin channels gives you the chance to have a front and rear camera record.

I'm in the same boat, pal. Doing a lot more driving in my new job so I want one too.

I did some research and found a load of decent offers, for all budgets, in Halfords. My biggest concern is fitting as I don't want wires all over the place. Halfords do a fitting service too.

Horse bolted and all that but after a few months of humming and ahhing I've just bought a Nextbase 312GW after having someone try and wipe me out on the A12 a few weeks ago. Looking at the damage to my car one of the lads at the golf club expressed the opinion that it looked like I'd hit something (rather tham me being hit) and on reflection I thought that he had a point. With no witnesses who stopped it would have been quite easy for the other bloke to say that I'd pulled out on him.... rather than him changing lane and hitting me.

Was only £80 and does GPS location and has accelerometers for measuring impact direction.

Do they reduce insurance premiums with some companies?
Would seem like the logical next step if people know that, in the event of an accident, everything they've done behind the wheel is recorded.
