After looking at my stats on HowDidIDo recently, itr= was clear that its the Double Bogey's that cost me dearly in Comps, so I set out today to play a 'steady' round.

Front 9 - 4 over Gross 20Pts. Happy Days

Back 9 - 9 over gross 15pts - 4 DOUBLE DAMN BOGEYS

The 10th (Str1) was the 1st, after playing it for a 5 to be safe, 3 putted from 12' :D
15 & 16 & 18 followed......with a Birdie and a couple of good pars in between.....

Sooooooooo frustrating. 35pts should have been 39 or near.....
*shakes head*

dont worry mate. try to keep as relaxed as possible and youll soon start removing those double bogies from your round. After every bad shot or hole i just laugh and make light of it, being too serious hiders your game dramatically and laughing relieves the tension allowing you to play to your best. good luck, keep at it and laugh ;)

I wouldn't get too hung up about them. They will happen and the secret is not to go chasing shots to try and recover. Nor is it something you need to be worrying about as you play (I can't get a double bogey today etc) as this only adds pressure. Take each hole on its merits and if you get into trouble try to get it back onto the short stuff without taking unnecessary risks.

I appreciate your thoughts guys, but my stats for the last 2 yrs are 24.87% Double Bogey's, which clearly playing off 11/12 is the sole reason I arent lowering my handicap.

Today I set out to manage the course better than that, and for the 1st 14 holes, managed it well, with only 1 double.
To Double 3 of the last 4 is just pathetic, and flippin annoying.

mate, if you think thats bad you havent seen me play!!! seriously dont focus on it too much. i think u put too much pressure on yourself which causes u to doubt yourself on the greens this = poor putting/= bad scores. As you havent a handicap of 11 you are obviously very capable so just have faith in yourself.

If you focus on the double bogey and address it as a problem, it will likely remain one. Just focus on hitting that ball one shot at a time, double bogeys appear in many ways, but an awful lot of them from one simple shot error, club choice or bad putt.
