I am looking for a new putter and need a 31" length, however all the putters I am interested in only have 34" or 35" lengths available.
Has anyone cut down their putter, if so did it feel/perform the same or did they adjust the weighting to compensate for the shaft reduction.

get a pro to do it as it will need some slight weight balance done at the top of the shaft, prob only cost under a tenner to do it incl new grip.
Took mine from 35" to 31" and it felt better immediately

I cut 2 inches off my putter last year to try and get over the ball a wee bit more, and put a fatter grip on it. Putting immediately improved and didn't notice any difference in swing weight (Oddyssey mallet type putter). It's fairly simple to do yourself, you can also choose a grip that will suit you. I have previously regripped my entire set, very simple process too!

BUT... you don't know until you do it! I was lucky and made an educated guess that came off.
