Afternoon all,
I am a putter weirdo. Right, that's out of way.

I prefer perpendicular alignment on putters (used an Odyssey Versa 1W for years) and often use the top line as my alignment to target. For whatever reason, horizontal lines/shapes on putters just cause me to second guess what I'm looking at and I can never get comfortable over the ball.

So....I'm currently using a Bettinardi SS#28 putter and I want to make the top line more pronounced when looking down on the putter. The head is carbon steel so naturally rusts from prolonged exposure to the elements. My mad cap idea is to expediate the rusting across the putter head, and then use wire wool/brillo bad/elbow grease or whatever to buff up the top line so it has more of a contrast against the rest of the putter head.

Is anyone as weird as me and if so, does that idea sound feasible for what I'm trying to achieve?
