Isn't this pretty much what happened at Merrist Wood, another Crown course?
No! MW was fully owned by CG and was simply sold - though to a group that was/is 'Property related'.Isn't this pretty much what happened at Merrist Wood, another Crown course?
Isn’t that where brexit’s biggest fan plays?
Batchworth isn't a private members club in the usual set up.Just to make sure I've understood: Batchworth is a private member's club, and the members hired Crown Golf to manage it?
In which case, if there's a majority of members who are unhappy with what's happening, why can't they just call an EGM and fire Crown Golf? It doesn't need to be at the club, they can hire a hall elsewhere. Of course there'd then be the problem of how to run the place, but surely that would be preferable to having it asset stripped?
(Incidentally, I only played Batchworth once but thought it was a nice course)
Not sure exactly what time he booked, but said he aiming for 1-ish Friday afternoon. It’s actually in pretty good nick, thanks to some new green keeping staff who took over about 9 months ago. The only thing lacking is the catering, as they have a microwave technician, who turns up occasionally!
What time you teeing off as I’m there late afternoon.
Enjoy your round
Is there any update in the lease dispute from 2022?
It wouldn't be a loss to the game if the course was bulldozed for housing. It's a pretty boring golf course surrounded by much more interesting gems like Moor Park, Sandy Lodge, West Herts and Northwood.
These are the only things I could see
