Whilst going through some of the top 100 next 100 courses and the debate, some of the courses mentioned are ones I've been meaning to play for years but haven't got round to it. Some of the local(ish) courses I am going to try and play next year, hopefully in opens if available are as follows:

Glasgow Gailes (sorted for March GM meet)
Scotscraig
Ladybank
North Berwick

Also fancy Woodhall Spa, Formby & Hillside but they will probably be on the back burner till the following year.

Obviously the top ones like St Andrews etc. But locally I want to play
Bamburgh castle golf club
Dunstanburgh castle club
Northumberland golf course
Goswick golf club.

Slightly further a field I would love to play Durness Gc on a sunny clear day for the views.

Trump Aberdeen
Muirfield
Formby
Birkdale
Royal County Down
Portrush
Royal Aberdeen
Hotchkin
Alwoodley
Southport & Ainsdale
Machrihanish

Hopefully get a few of them ticked off next year and plan some for either late next or the year after. Really want to get up the Ayrshire coast aswell as never played there.

Should have played golf instead if football when I lived up there!!

I could live with that list! I have played Hotchkin and Royal Aberdeen but would add in Wentworth.

Cambuslang GC , only a 9 hole course but very good i'm told . Their open was cancelled this year so maybe next year, if I'm lucky enough to get a tee time again.

Not that bothered about Wentworth, may get round to it some day.

Trump Aberdeen just looks incredible to me, I can't stop looking at pictures of it!! Need to get there sooner rather than later

Played Nairn last year with Patricks148 when up at the Dornoch Castle Stuart trip. I really enjoyed it, played in absolute sunshine too. Also played Royal Aberdeen with Val in their Open, it is just top class! Defo up for it again next year

Top list there

I have ticked a few off that list in the last couple of years

Trump
Muirfield
Royal Aberdeen
Machrihanish

You'd struggle to play 4 better courses to be honest. Fancy the rest on your list too but my original list was more local not in the top price bracket ones I should have played by now.

At the moment top of my wish list of courses yet to be played are: North Berwick, Dornoch, Nairn, Castle Stuart and perhaps Gullane. Not sure any of them will happen anytime soon though with no.2 due next spring. Hoping to have a return trip to Muirfield in 2015.
