ive never played omagh although i have played Newtonstewart. i was there for a society day. im back there in june. enjoyable wee course. not overly long if i remember correctly.

I've only played it once myself and it was a few years ago when I didn't really have a grasp of the game but a lot of people from the Omagh area would choose Newton over Omagh I'm not overly sure why...

The only reason I can think of is slightly lower fees and a little bit more exciting. Omagh is very flat in comparison although the drainage in Newtown leaves something to be desired but they are working at it.

I like Omagh, just wish we had some more money for a new clubhouse as the course is in terrific condition throughout the summer, but the clubhouse and changing rooms leave a lot to be desired unfortunately
