im know for cutting up the course with my short irons but this is just sickening. the 7th green at my brothers course was wreaked last night. the hole closed today as you can imagine. heres a couple of pics. id say theres a bounty on the head of the perpetrator. was supposed to play there today but couldnt make it. the greens are usualy superb down there. this would make any golfers blood boil! it was strabane golf club.

i know the feeling our course gets vandalised every week and the greens ruined BUT that is normally the green keeping staff. This is a common thing and is normally kids but a few years ago 2 greens at a local club had the turf removed completely by the lovable travellers and used to turf a front garden, there is an ongoing situation at a club in rainford that keeps having weed killer poured on its greens and has closed a few times because of it.

they have removed parts of a bowling greens turf as well and over 100 young saplings only 2 days after they were planted from a local public park, mind you Heidi my garden is the talk of the neighbors!!!!!!!

Be thankful they didn't tarmac the green at a special offer price never to be repeated due to over-ordering on a road re-surfacing job:rofl:.

What goes through kids heads these days to make them want to do that? I'm sure 15 years ago when I was a teenager we never did any *** like this, and wouldnt have dreamt of doing it either!!

Thats bloody awful, god knows what enjoyment any individual can get from doing something like that:confused:

Great greeens too at Strabane, always in great condition.

We have had bother in the past with young ones pouring oil or petrol over our 10th green, would love to catch them in the act:whistle:

What we are forgetting here and what some of you English Fellas don't know is that Strabane is generally a scummy place (there are some exceptions obviously). But it didn't get voted the 4th worst place to live the UK by chance

That's terrible, can't Imagine what goes through some people's minds.

Our course suffered recently as well. There is a private access road which crosses the course and everybody and their auntie used it to go and walk their dog, horse, quad bike and scrambler bike !!!!
Other than minor distractions it was generally not a problem, however a few weeks ago the quad bike and scrambler decided that our seventh fairway, green and sixth green were a good place to practice their skills.
Fortunately the green keeping staff have done a very good job in repairing it and it is hardly noticeable now. Also we have had the heavy duty road protection barriers put in place to stop them getting access back on to the road and over the course, so far so good.

i bet the other 3 were in scotland as well!!!!!!!

why would he want to leave strabane g.c? the course is the best thing about the place and less than 5 mins away from his house.
Aww ok I didn't realise that he lived right in Strabane. It is a nice course, it's just the rest of the town that's the problem
