Course still closed :-(

We were open today - borderline playable in my opinion.
Not much in the way of lakes of standing water but enough that sometimes it was difficult to find somewhere to drop.
If the greenkeepers can't get out on the mowers then the course maybe shouldn't be open - there was a stretch on the 17th where they'd obviously begun cutting the rough but had to stop.
Had a deluge this afternoon - might have put paid to tomorrow's game, we'll have to wait and see.

You did better than our place Ian, the 9th green on all accounts was under water this morning and course fully shut, theyre hoping to be open tomorrow but by the sounds of it wont be properly playable until we string several dry days together (which may mean the weekend until it rains again next week lol)

Is that Aylesbury Vale? Played there on Monday and it was wet although greens in good nick. Played 4 under handicap so very pleased and like the course!!

Oh - we're closed still. May open front 9 on Saturday but looks like we'll have to play away for our Daily Mail Foursomes. Home advantage lost but a round at Aspley Guise so not too painful.

Yes Aylesbury Vale Amanda. I had a brief chat with the head greenkeeper saturday and he was worried that he hadnt got enough top dressing on the greens since they were tined, the rest of the course is said to be very very wet and they cant get out to work on most of it. Glad you enjoyed it :)

GL for your 4somes match, Aspley is on the tight side, big emphasis on keeping the ball in play!

We're fully open. The back nine and 14,15 and 16 in particularl use to get really boggy but the club did a lot of work three years back and these adraining much better. Its been relatively dry for a few days and so has dried out well. Even in the deluges last weekend there was some standing water mainly around the aprons but in general terms it had coped well and was playable.
