Curious to find out how many members are having the same problem as me in relation to home course closed or unplayable due to recent weather conditions.( For courses in the Glasgow and surrounding areas)
My home course(Ranfurly Castle, Bridge of Weir) has been closed for nearly 2 weeks due to 6-8 inches of snow completely covering the course. Even although the weather for the past week and a half has been great, sunny and dry every day, there is still no sign of the snow melting, looks like this could continue for weeks to come.

I told you on Saturday there would be no golf before next week and you wouldn't believe me!!!

Took a wee spin up their today and there is still at least a 2-3 inches covering of snow.

It was a problem us southerners had in January although to be fair most of the snow lasted maybe 7-10 days tops and courses were shut for a week or so after as they were flooded by the melting snow lying on top of full water tables. Since then I think the majority have been pretty lucky and most are enjoying some golf even if it is off mats and temps. We were fully open at the weekend and the course was pretty dry thanks to the strong wind we had last week.

If you are struggling with the conditions you have my sympathy as I was going stir crazy for a game. The range will help but it doesn't really scratch the itch

Hes not struggling that badly homer, the old git took £4.50 off me on Saturday!

No rain for 7 days and a breeze blowing, my place should be nice and firm underfoot. Last time out it was remarkable after torrential rain 3 days before - barely a puddle. Now it should be top notch. Looking forward to getting some roll on my drives again.

I managed to squeez 18 in this evening after work, wizzed round on my own in just over 2 hours. 73 (61) so a pretty good day. Our place has coped really well with the heavy winter we've had so far. Roll on the 1st April when our handicaps 'go live' again

Our course was closed for 48 days but now open with full course and no mats and is looking good for this time of year.

Plenty of teeing from mats and preferred lies at Scotscraig yesterday, and they charged £60 for the priveledge! :(

It was a pleasure :p :p

Had to travel by car and ferry to a small island off southwest coast of scotland to find descent playing conditions, normal greens, no mats and great weather.
Only downside was the old napper getting a touch
of sunburn :D :D

They have stopped allowing flippers in the spike bar so i am hoping we may see dry land somtime before easter.

My course has only been closed for short while this winter due heavy snow and a lack of salt to grit the access road.

Considering the weather this winter the condition of the course has been and is fantastic ..... :)

It certainly helps being perched on the top of the south downs - can get a bit windy though

Homer, I want a job like yours, you never ever seem to work and are always playing golf!

Lucky B!
