Course closed again !!!!

All the excellent work on drainage last year and this year means were still open and after watching all that rain come down last night, I'm amazed!

Pull trolleys only.

Will be playing in the Friday chuck-in at 12noon, a good warm up prior to our Christmas meet & dinner at Nailcote Hall on Sunday.

We're open so off shortly and looks a cracking day. Did wonder if the heavy rain last night would cause the river to burst its banks but nope (yet)!

As predicted, glorious day, little wind and the course under a foot of water.........

Quality.

garden's flooded from last night's downpour but fingers crossed the course will be OK for my winter singles match in a couple of hours.......famous last words!

We are closed for the 2nd day in a row. My winter league game tomorrow looks under threat as more rain is forecast, It could still be closed on Sunday at this rate

I was coming down your way this weekend, and even had Condor tickets booked for Guernsey, but have decided to stay at home in the warm instead......good luck with the golf!

Got afternoon off. Winter knockout match to play. Looking out my window I think I see blue sky - and it's dry (though it bucketed down all last night). Course generally drains quickly and well as build on sand. Greens will be OK but some parts of fairways could be a bit squelchy. Will head off in about 45mins.

I feel really sorry for the course officials/greenkeepers when it's like this. At my last club, they had so many people (wimps) switching to other courses rather than carry they ended up being 'pressured' into allowing trolleys before the course was dry enough. Then they got pilloried for the condition of the fairways! They really can't win

that could be the right choice!

Gales and rain forecast here tomorrow. A couple of months ago it was the same, the condor ferry ran when it was a borderline call. They interviewed the passengers on the local news. They looked a little green around the gills !
