Country Membership

Ours is a 50 mile radius - but the critical thing (and seems to be different to most other places) is that its only available to people who are existing members and who move away. You can't get it as a matter of course.

Where about in Cheshire are you to be 1 hr 45 mins away?

Also check out the "reciprocals" that Conwy have, although not free:-

We also have fantastic reciprocal arrangements with;Wallasey 0151 638 3888Beau Desert 01543 422626Prestbury 01625 828242Shifnal 01952 460330Vale of Llangollen 01978 860040Llanymynech 01691 830983Macdonald Portal Hotel, Golf & Spa 01829 734160Sandiway 01606 883247St Annes Old Links 01253 722432West Lancs 0151 924 5662Delamere Forest 01606 883800 Option 2Heswall Golf Club 0151 342 1237These are all priced at £20 per visit except St Annes Old Links and Sandiway which are £25 per visitThis is in addition to local arrangements in place with Maesdu, North Wales, Abergele and Penmaenmawr at £15 per visitPlease note that all clubs have certain requirements for the reciprocal arrangements and these should be checked with each club prior to visit.

If they are also close to where you live, thats another bonus.

Those reciprocals certainly do look good and a number of them are very accessible.

I live pretty much as far east as Cheshire gets, just on the Derbyshire border... only 5 mins or so from Prestbury. It means all the coastline courses from Old Links down to Hoylake are beyond 50 miles which was my working assumption for minimum country membership distance. I've not looked west as 50+ miles will take an age with no motorway network.

We have a similar arrangement, only available to members who move away, usually for business and who usually come back at a later stage.
