Cooden Open today.....

Well done to you both!

well done :)

Got to say, Richard played the best I have ever seen him play. I was playing crap once the rain started, as soon as it stopped I was ok. But he was really hitting the ball well.
We gelled together well. I took 11 points off the closing 4 holes, could have been 12 if I'd sunk that birdie putt on the last.
Richard had two birdies and I came close a few times.
As I say, we both played well. Great team effort.

good work chaps. I'm not playing you for money around Cooden based on last year and today. You should join, you obviously love the course

You could be on their scratch team

Just got back home. There is certainly some awful weather about. M25 was more like a ten mile swimming pool, and I got a bit of a shock when two cars had just crashed in the outside line facing the wrong way.

Great days golf though, and a big thanks to Smiffy for inviting me to make up the numbers. We dovetailed perfectly, as fortunately I can play in the rain.;) When my opening tee shot sliced into a ditch I thought it was going to be a long day, but after that managed to avoid most of the Cooden trouble.

Our gross better ball was 2 over which was not bad in the conditions. Winning on count back was good too !! Shame we couldn't collect our prizes on the day, as I am sure Rob would have loved to have made a captains speech !!

Well played mate, and thanks again. Not bad for two old farts.

PS Thanks for the congrats guys.

And to think you did all this with your reserve wedge in the bag ;)

Good effort....but don't leave it to countback next year!

Great result guys.

I can see Smiffy joining there soon as he and HID obviously love the place.

I'm just gutted that I wasn't invited to make up the pairing.

Oh yes, I remember now. I tendered my apologies to Richart as I was attending a charity day at The Addington today and couldn't manage Cooden as well.

Was a member of the winning team however :clap:

Good day all round by the sound of it. :D

wow! The oldies did good. Well done - and hitting form before Sunday

And we only lost one ball each Paul!!
Rich lost his on the first, high slicing ball that the wind got hold of and pushed out into the crap on the right....you'll know all about high slices with a wind assist...hehehe.
I lost mine on the 4th. Hit a good drive up the middle, about 175 out into a howling gale and went to hit my 5 wood. It was chucking it down with rain at the time, grip slipped and I knobbed it into the lake in front of the green. Bugger.

Looking forward to Sunday mate, just hoping the weather improves a bit.
Keith Wiley (the secretary at Cooden) has played Remedy, he reckons it's superb. But more "target golf" than Cooden.
