That Paul MacCartney died in a road accident in 1966 and was replace by a look a like.

There are entire websites devoted to this, with facial analysis, clues in song lyrics & everything. His place was supposed to have been taken by a Billy Shears, who won a lookalike competition & got a mention in Sgt. Pepper.

Though does it really matter - as if true the lookalike did a pretty darned good job. I guess it would have mattered at the time - and I guess if McCartney's family weren't told it would matter.

what i couldn't really get was why would they leave clues, if they didn't want anyone to know he had died and been replaced??
