You say you have plenty of comps and "3 or so" comps a week, but also indicated you only have one Saturday comp a month, which certainly isn't offering much competition golf to those who (can) only play weekends (or Saturdays).

There is clearly the appetite for more competitions as you have groups running their own. Sounds like you need volunteer(s) to take on running competitions, if club management/the office is not interested in catering to the membership (I assume this isn't a members club?).

PS. there is certainly no requirement setup tee times for comps or to block out tee times for them. For example, with the exception of trophy/board comp days, we run regular comps every Saturday and Sunday that are optional entry (i.e. rollup entry in the pro shop on the day).

The club alternates and varies days so that everybody gets a chance to play in one to suit the day that they play.

Our optional comps are week days and Sundays

We sometimes have a 4BBB on alternate Saturdays plus we have a lot of 'special comps' e.g Captains Day, Presidents day, new Captains drive in day.

Getting volunteers
It has been hard enough to get volunteers to go on to the captain's committee.

Oh dear. So their handicaps are not genuine as per the Rules of Handicapping.
How much attention do they pay to the Rules of Golf? Or for that matter how much does the club concern itself with either?

I’m confused here - if they are not putting GP scores in when they play the roll up how are their handicaps not genuine ?

And why would the club care what members do in their own social golf ?!

They may be not entering very good scores so that when they enter a formal comp their Index will be high and enable them to win a prize. ie bandits

I'm confused here.. In my defence I've only been playing under WHS since June so still getting used to the anomalies, I found the old CONGU so much easier to understand.

How is them playing in a swindle or roll up an instant reason to say they're purposely entering not very good scores in order to Sandbag and create an artificially high handicap making them a bandit or reason to accuse them of false handicapping.

Surely a friendly roll up or swindle not organised by the club its up to them and the group they play with to decide what they do for shots. It's not official, it's not affecting the club or anyone but those playing in a friendly between them. IF the club isn't organising and its not affecting anyone it then why should they step in for handicapping, is there a rule to say they must enter a GP score or that this must be a club organised thing and that every time they play they must enter cards for Handicapping purposes.. This isn't me being pedantic I'm genuinely interested in how this affects anyone but themselves or how this can be used as false handicap
