Anyone in the Renfrewshire area know or can recommend a decent company/plumber who is a qualified gas engineer??

Looking to upgrade my boiler which is now over 15 years old but at the last service I was told they are now no longer even making the parts for it! I guess it has been a faithful servant which owes me nothing.

Big Slice are you also able to do Combi's??? Cash in hand waiting if the price is right.

I've just had a Ferroli Optimax boiler installed. 5 year warranty. Quiet as a mouse and hot water at an instant! Oh year and a 7 day + programmable timer. Brilliant !!

I have Big Slice coming over tomorrow, he better be very reasonable or he's being outed on here!!!!!!

:D :D :D :D ;)

Enjoy it whilst it lasts! You will get your moneys worth with the 5yr warranty though.

Why is that?

Do you not rate Ferroli boilers???

My current boiler which is 17 years old is a Ferroli Optima. Apart from a couple of minor repairs during the yearly service I've not had any major issues with it.

Are you a plumber/gas engineer? If so what would you recommend????

Advice more than welcome.

Craw i do it for a living and to be honest i only fit vaillant or worcester combis when supplying as they imo are the best. Ive very few callbacks and both easy to work on though the worcester is more awkward.

The only other make i recommend to my customers are the Potterton Promax of which ive fitted loads through local council schemes. Fit what you can afford.

we changed our boiler last year and went with a Vaillant as well, upped the spec a bit to get pressure on the two showers which are being run off the boiler.
Has worked great so far and a huge difference compared to previous one.

New one is a condensing combi meaning we have gained a cpbd where cylinder was and losttwo tanks in attic.
