Cold weather golf

Surprised nobody has mentioned a flask of whatever you drink. Personally I take coffee, my golfing partner has something stronger from the north.

Yeah OK :D :D

You said at the beginning of the week how cold it was in the morning when you played Woldingham on Sunday.

I live a couple of miles down the road and i can assure you that at 6.45 this morning it was bloody cold with a deep frost.

Playing Coulsdon Court tomorrow (mates birthday gig, not my call) hope we dont have another frost like last night, otherwise I might need to find my flask. ;)

Never bother with waterproofs unless it's raining.

For the cold, a rain glove on both hands and mitts in between shots. Big wooly hat to cover my flappy lugs. Base layer+polo+jumper up top and good old long johns under normal trousers and two pairs of socks.

I can't believe how few golfers seem to think of long johns. No-one needs to know you've got them on and there is nothing more comfortable in the cold for your lower half.

I've got a lovely waterproof top from Stuburt. Nice and waterproof and very thin, but with the added benefit that it's not as breathable as the expensive GG stuff. hence it's great at keeping you warm in the winter.
