Cobra S3 Max, Cobra AMP or Nike VRS irons?

Hi.
Looking for advice please? Considering buying a set of one of the above clubs.
Would consider myself to be a very high handycapper (awful golfer!) but need to learn to play.
Have read good reviews of all the clubs but which should I go for?

S3 Max. I use the S2 Max and can't rate them more highly.

Yeah Kellfire has had his for a few seasons and he is getting better all of the time.

Do you have anywhere locally you can go and try them all? Also, what clubs are you playing at the minute? Other things to consider, how tall are you, age, fitness.

Thanks, I thought that may be the one. I'm 6 foot, aged 37 and good general fitness (carrying a tad too much weight!). Don't have any clubs at the moment and haven't for a few years.

Wilson Staff Di11 are good irons for new golfers and mid handicap golfers

I have the normal S3s that were replaced by the AMPs and my handicap is in the mid 20s. And I really rate the S3s. I'd see if there is anywhere where you can hit both the S3 Maxs and the AMPs. But if not then the S3 Maxs are aimed at the super game improver market, which sounds what you are after.

I'd spend the money on a fitting session. I'm 5'9 and would never have thought I needed clubs that were 2 deg upright until I was fitted. You being 6 ft might mean longer shafts so its worth the money to get the right fitting

I recommend TM Burner 2.0 irons but that's only because I use them and like them a lot. Try before you buy mate.

Ping k15 or Rapture v2 irons would suite you down to the ground. You can use the ping fitting system as well.... If you are 6ft then i think you would be blue/yellow spot, but try looking at the online fitting system!!

Get a cheap set of clubs and put the rest of your money towards lessons.

Get a course of lessons and then you can hit any club (within reason of course). The point is, if you get the basics right then there are loads of GI clubs that you could try. I wouldn't look at a fitting personally while you are still learning or getting back as they can only fit for the swing you bring on the day and if that varies too much on a day by day basis there is no guarantee you'll get exactly what you want or need

Thanks for all the advice, may actually look at a used set of S3 Max and lessons. As mentioned I can upgrade when I start to improve.
