As is the current trend on the forum, I would like to request the advice of this esteemed establishment, if you'd indulge me.

Club champs today, in maccy d's for a pre match and just about to head to the club to warm up.

Now, our 1st can be tricky and I want to get off to a steady start with no dramas. I could go with 3wood and hit SW in or lay back with a rescue and wedge it on. I prefer the latter.

So my question is, trap 1 or trap 2 as I've got one in the departure lounge? ;)

hit whatever you feel most confident with!

failing that do what I do, say your going to play it safe, get on the tee and think sod it I am gonna go for it then proceed to balls it up ;)

Trap 2 as its probably less frequented on the balance of things. Oh and good luck with whatever you decide and best of luck for the comp. Keep us posted.

Trap1 as someone is very nervous in trap 2 and may need a nurse pretty soon!

Love that idea Ethan, might save the wedge off the 1st for the 1 club challenge after the presentation and a few pints.

Mid iron off the tee then mid iron to ten feet, make the putt and run round the green shouting
That said robo, I've never seen your swing so it could well draw Excalibur and to hell with the consequences.

Bloody hell, should have stayed in the trap!!! Blowing a gale and heavy showers all day, pretty brutal out there at times. 74 & a 77 was nowhere near good enough.

There's always next year

I'd have said they weren't bad scores in those conditions. Struggling myself after gorging on a birthday curry meal out and deciding on trap 1, 2 or 3 myself befor eteeing off tomorrow. I've a feeling it'll be tough as the course will be wet and we've a strong old wind forecast

Mine are next week. Going off the back tees has its advantages.

Some of the longer fairway bunkers I usually find are now out of range so some holes are easier.

Sadly the converse is that some holes I fly fairway bunkers are now in the landing area.

After today off the blues I have decided I like them, I really didnt notice the difference except that I have more 5 irons to greens than usual :D

I say play smart, play confident but do not chase sucker pins. I wouldn't worry too much on the first, no one judges a round on one shot, I drove left into a fairway bunker and ended up almost getting par. Then found a fairway bunker on a 450 yard par 4 4 holes later and put a 5 wood pin high and made par!
