Club championship

Had a great match in the quarter final of club championship tonight, struggled a bit on the greens but otherwise my game was pretty solid.
I was 3 down on the 14th tee mostly due to some poor putting but nailed a 15 ft birdie putt to get the ball rolling and the confidence back and played the last 5 holes 1 under to win 2 up.

Got the semi on Thursday just hope I can start like I finished tonight.

Well done. Keep calm and treat it as a normal match and don't think too much about the final. Let the result take care of itself. You're obviously hitting ok so trust the swing and enjoy it

Got last years champ tomorrow night so will be a tough match, his game has vastly improved this year but as the saying goes anyone is beatable on the day.

Yeh, play the course and to beat him you'll just have to go for it. If you dont you'll wish you did.

Well guys I gave it my best shot, was 2 down after 9 and then 1 up through 12.
Thirteenth is only 109y with a elevated green and a huge bunker short right, you can guess where I put it .
On 14 sent it into deep rough and could not find it so now 1 down again, tried to go for everything but had no joy and lost 2+1.
He went on to win it at a canter in the final so not too disappointed.

On a brighter note shot a 75 in the medal today and am now a single figure handicap off 9.1 so not all bad news.

Maybe a case of trying too hard over the closing stretch but well done for keeping in it for so long and especially on the medal performance. Much to be pleased about but it might be worth reviewing the strategy on the mistakes you made and keeping a mental not for future reference but I'd focus on how hard you pushed him and the fact that you got your nose in front.

I didn't do too much wrong after 13 and 14 he won 16 with a birdie and we halved 17.

Very happy with my game and the way I played was just a bit disappointed with 13 as I believe I lost all the momentum I had built up over holes 10,11+12 and had him rattled then mucked up but that's golf m8
