No not like that, like this.....

Saw the draw this morning and it seems the Ladies are playing in the Club Champs....

And they're off first!!

Glad I'm not playing. Last group out might not get back before dark.

Are they playing their own comp or is it just one overall comp? Is it allowed to play one comp off two different tees? except for a mixed team comp that is ?

Risk of slow play aside, I quite like the idea of the whole club playing in club champs on one day.

I imagine there will be a good buzz around the place: plenty of people involved on the course, big turnout for presentations, good social afterwards, and the feel of a big tournament.

Obviously I don't know what your club's like Imurg so can sympathise if if it's as bad as you suggest.

It was my 1st club champs this year and I was a little sad that the ladies were not playing and had there own. Lots of good lady golfers at our place and I get held up by a lot more old or young people than I do ladies.

Monty have you ever played after a womens comp? . can only speak of my own club , & i dont include all women golfers, mainly guilty is the more established (older) members off the big handicaps. bring your lunch mate :)

To clarify, I like the idea of everyone playing on the same day, but sending the ladies out first is madness, I agree. :(

Fixed that for you...

:D :D

Given all that, surely in your current form you would have had a good chance of some silverware? Why are you not competing?

It's on a weekend - almost impossible for me to get a whole weekend without the million and 1 family/work things to be done.
Plus the reality that yesterday wasn't and today was.
66 yesterday, 79 today. Wouldn't even get me in the placings. I'd need to string a couple of 71's together to have a chance and realistically that ain't gonna happen!
I'm at the wrong handicap level - too high to win overall and too low to get the handicap prize, there's always a 20+'er that comes in low... :D

you can shoot a 66 (scratch I assume) and you think you cant compete in the club champ :D
even if it was nett then its min 2 rounds and 2x66 would surely be in the running?

Freak day - I can shoot 66 because I did. Beat my best ever round that course by 5 shots. Best will in the World, that's not going to happen again for a while......Realistically the best I would do would be a couple of 75's.........

Besides, it's going to pee it down on Sunday... :D :D :D

You big bunch of bigots

yes we have slow ladies, but we have just as many and more slow men, who have terribel dress sense, and think they know the rules.

we have mixed comps all teh time; club champs are 2 rounds in 1 day, with teh ladies champs mixed in there. Always a really good day.

Cant believe you think a 28 h'cap male deserves priority over a 14 handicap lady (say) ????

21st centuey here

We have a fair few decent lady golfers byt we also have some pretty poor ones and I personally think sending them out is going to make the whole day very slow especially if its a medal. I'm not adverse to a one comp for all scenario but think it would be far better to mix the group up or put the lower handicaps out first

I'm fine playing at the same time as the ladies, but I'm not sure it's fair that they play in the same competition when their course is maybe 1000yds shorter.

I'm assuming since it's the club champs the same handicap restrictions apply to the ladies?

Calm down guys the ladies will be playing their own comp for sure. And btw if most club champs are anything to go by it will be 4.5 hours minimum whether the ladies are off first or not.

Our place this year we had the seniors club champs on the same day but they were only doing one round and tee'd off after the last of the regular mens tee times.
