No qualifier comps. Handicap of 16 or better automatically qualifies you for the regular club championships (separate ladies and gents), higher handicappers (I think up to -36, but I could be wrong and it is completely open) can enter the netto club championship (mixed). If you are over 50 years of age, you can play in the ladies or gents senior championship, all handicaps. All of those are played as two 18 hole medal rounds over Saturday and Sunday. The netto championship is a Stableford comp, to avoid endless rounds, also over two days. The ladies and gents used to have a knockout matchplay on the second day, but they dropped that a couple of years ago. The juniors play their own, one round comp on the Friday before (it is separated into age groups, the younger ones play only 9 holes, I think, and there is a challenge comp for the "tiger group" who are not experienced or long enough to play on the big course yet). In Germany, almost all clubs have their club championship on the same weekend (first weekend in September), to avoid interference with the regional and national league and ranking tournaments. Is that the same in the UK?
