Climate change..

Nothing at all and never will. "You evil person you" I hear you exclaim. Er hang on a minute. The rate the worlds population is expanding is ridiculous and the rate these people are and will be consuming the worlds resources, any effort I actually make will be futile.

This is just my view. There is no need to attack. Just put your own view.

Nothing. Don't have kids so let it go to hell in a handcart (and yes I am joking). Do the basics like recycling etc but nothing special although a bit like Crazyface given the amount of pollution from the US and China on a daily basis what's the point

I'd be surprised if this thread wasn't locked based on MikeH's post regarding political threads.
Not really, i'm interested to know what efforts people are making, if any. Some of the data coming out of the scientific world is truly scary.

Pretty much any thread could have a political slant if you wanted it to.

As soon as you branded it the "single biggest issue of our time", it's per se political. Imo I should perhaps add.

But I'm not a moderator, so I shall step back. :)

We do what we can. Recycle, think about our journeys, etc.
I know some people say one person can't make a difference then it would just be worse. Yes, there are worse polluters but somebody somewhere has to do something.
When I look at what goes into the recycling bin, I try to put as little into the grey general bin as the though of it going to landfill just appals me.

Nice attitude to have, its to easy to say it someones else's fault and what can 1 person do.
But it's us who drive what the big business and polluters do, so If we can change then they have to change to.

In my time I've worked for a company that produced VOC, CFC, HFCs, toxic chemicals, etc. I come from a town that was once described, and with good reason, to be one of the most polluted in England (In 1888 the town was described as "the dirtiest, ugliest and most depressing town in England" and in 1905 as a "poisonous hell-town".). The legacy of that is still there today. In the past, some of this can be put down to ignorance, some to callousness and others to who cares. Nowadays the ignorance card is harder to play. People don't believe it because they don't want to, or "everyone else is doing it!", or "what can I do?", or "my little bit won't make a difference". As someone who has grown up with pollution and it's legacy, I know how important change is needed.
Saying that, I put my robust constitution to the fact that living there has conditioned my body against most nasties ;)

Wasn't there a study recently, in Scotland I think, where it showed that even after lockdown the air quality didn't change ?
No idea what this means btw.

We try and do our own little bit towards the greater good on re-cycling, vehicle emissions, minimising use of car, supporting green initiatives, encouraging others as we can - on the basis of the maxim

"mony a mickle maks a muckle"

But tbh - we probably don't do as much as we could (or should?) do.

I'm helping reduce our levels of nuclear waste.

Unfortunately we have plenty to go at and no future strategy for the waste getting produced now..

Our air quality up here is very nice as long as I don't drop a bollock at work :ROFLMAO:
