Hate them. If I had my way there would be a very small tree (about a foot tall) placed on the mantelpiece as a token gesture. However, HID has other ideas.

Would have been next weekend but as Mrs Colch is working both days they went up today. Not decorated inside yet, just a few little lights outside to cheer up the neighbourhood. Nothing too OTT.........

Only got a few more to put up and then we'll be done.

And before anyone gives it the bah humbug/waste of money response we have a charity box outside for people that walk past or stop to look and try to raise some money for a local good cause. I get a large electric bill but hopefully we raise a couple of hundred quid for someone that needs it more than us. Have even got a few of the neighbours involved this year so hopefully will raise even more.

Always the week-end preceding Christmas, so that will be 20th or 21st December. Usually down again by about 4th Jan.

Just an up date on the Christmas Decorations thread. Our's finally ended up looking like this after I'd put them all up......

And then this evening the doorbell rang and it was three people from our local council who were there to give me this........

Turns out I have won the best Xmas lights display for our local area and as well as the trophy I have won a cheque for £50 to be paid to a local charity of my choice.
