When are your decorations going up? Already up?! Or not going up at all?

I'm trying to convince Mrs Piece that next Sat 6th is the time. She wants to wait until later (13th onwards...).

I put mine up yesterday. We have a young daughter so we like to have them up all December for her and it's a bit of a big task to do in the evening. So we did it yesterday with Home Alone on in the background.

When 60% of folks round these parts enjoy the days off but don't celebrate the religious side of Christmas the decorations may well go unnoticed in the Slab household

For the most part the build up (such that it is) hasn't started yet, a few shops are just putting out Christmas merchandising/products, no canned musac instores though. No Christmas TV ads etc

With a few days to go it'll look like any other place leading up to a major holiday period but for the time being its still just... What do you mean Christmas decorations!!

Wor lasses birthday is the 6th December and the decorations go up the weekend of or the weekend after her birthday, so this year they go up a few days earlier than usual.

I have seen houses with trees up and the outside illuminated like Blackpool, in the middle of November.

Went up last weekend. I thought I had the upper hand as I the only one who could get into the loft to get them down. But getting earache from HID and the boy I relented for a quite life. Nothing OTT though just a tree and a few other little bits.

We put ours up yesterday. Normally go up on the 1st but we are both working today and the kids were asking for us to put them up so we relented.

Christmas isn't allowed to start, or even be talked about for that matter until after the other half's birthday on the 12th. A lifetime of "combined presents" has made her very bitter :D

I think a December birthday that's not actually around Christmas "week" must be tough. Mine is the 29th so advantages of never having been at school or worked on my birthday. HID has to get my card early before the shops fill with Christmas cards. Joint presents have happened but somehow being fully into Christmas by then and friends and family around have made it a nice time to celebrate a birthday.

13/14th....any earlier and I'm fed up to the back teeth with the whole thing by Xmas eve!
Retweeted a good one last night from the Keep Christmas in December campaign...
For every tree decorated before December, an Elf drowns a baby reindeer!!!

As late as possible but they stay up until twelvth night. HID always does them. Daughters used to do it with him when they lived at home and we always had them up for our eldest daughters birthday on the 13th December.

I was always 12 days before, but the boss would have them up in August if I let her.

They went up yesterday, indoors only!
