there is 2 shafts that were recommended to me after my fitting and i'm not sure whether the fitter got them in specifically for me but they are now in and fitted to demo drivers for me to try out.i think he was getting them in for using on demo clubs anyway.

but i've seen some drivers on ebay that are already fitted with the recommended shafts and the drivers themselves are newer and better than the current one i use and the chances are the shaft upgrade would cost just as much.....

question is what would you lot do and would it be cheeky of me to buy the one off ebay?

obviously nothing was set in stone and i paid my money for the fitting but for some reason i feel like it's taking the mick..........

Dont see anything wrong, with you getting off fleebay. Its your money spend it where you want. Its not as though you got the fitting free or owt.

If it was already available to demo and I was charged a fitting fee then I wouldn't feel obliged and would search for the cheapest option.
But as the shafts were brought in for you specifically it is highly likely they will rarely be used by others as there are probably very very few that have the swing speeds you have. I don't know anyone at my club out of about 150 that does.
Baring in mind also that the majority of the companies actually charge the pro for the demo equipment. I know that Callaway and TM definitely charged my pro for the demo heads and shafts he has in the shop.

I would however expect the demo charge to be deducted off the price of the driver I was purchasing. Also remember that you may want another fitting in future for fairways , hybrids or irons and it may hinder you later if the pro considers you a tyre kicker or worse a user.

Not saying you are those things but moreso playing devils advocate and trying to give you all the options to help with your decision.

Personally speaking I would likely buy the new driver with the specific shaft option suggested but ONLY if the fitting charge was discounted off the price. Guys here usually only charge it if no purchase is made to recuperate the time for the session. But never if you purchase from them and are still able to sell for less than RRP.

What he said :)

see i don't think they were specifically brought in for me but tbh i don't know for sure.

this is the main reason i am feeling the way i am about it.chances are that when i have the money available there may be no drivers on ebay with the same shafts so that in itself will make my choice easy.

i think the best option is to go back through and test them both out because one might work wonders and the other may not work for me at all and that one may be the one i end up with from ebay.....and that would be costly.

cheers guys..

Only you know what was talked about at the first fitting and wether you said or intimated that you would like to try the recommended shafts if you did you should at least talk to the pro you used, if it was just a stand alone session you paid for then it's your choice which way to go.

Wull, there is no such thing as honour in retail and its a cut throat business. Buy it on ebay now when you can save money and do not think twice about it. It happens all the time.

A penny in your pocket is better than your penny in someone's till drawer!

just see if he can beat the ebay price which will probs be not
then just buy it off ebay and if anything is said just say "well you couldnt beat that price"
