CF, you and your clubs.

Just found out that Ping are coming to Sand Martins for a demo day in a few weeks. I'm hoping they might have the new range on board to try but I'm still sorely tempted by the I15's. You know what I'm like for reckless and impulsive purchases so I'm hoping HID will be hiding the credit card.

H. I thought that after the R9's, you were quite okay with the TP's?

As a thought. Rather than changing so often. Just stick with one set for more than a year. Go on. I dare you.

From what I can tell. There's not a lot of difference between the TP, i15 or the MX300 for that matter. Just a bit of personal preference.

Stick or twist?

I'm getting to a certain age so I wanted to get fitted for my Pings before the rush. I am just keen to see these new irons and give them a go really. Not convinced I want to change but like I said I've a history of impulsive buys. I like the look of the R9 TP's but my current clubs are doing ok so chances are they'll be around for a long time yet.

C/F driver, 909D2, sold.

C/F irons, T ZB, in the bag, not changing anytime soon.

905 5W, bit of guess work, Aldila NV 75 S. Comes out like a scafolding pole. Love it.

Scotty red x, 36", adjust all my putters to this length, just like long shafts (ooh, er, missus).

Vokey 50 degree, built to the spec of my irons.

Nike driver, total guess off internet, works fine.

Dave Whitlam wedges, 54 and 58, custom specced shafts and grips. Staying in the bag til they get banned.

When I got my stuff the pro said something along the lines of ;

He has watched me swing, and had a pretty good idea of what would help my swing of that moment, but could adjust that with the idea of where I want my game to be next year.

In which case a total CF would be no good, coz my swing will not be the same as it is now.

He needed to make sure the lie of the clubs was right for me ( by watching me hit a few ), and that the shaft was flexible enough for my mediocre ( my word, not his ) swingspeed.

Then he said that getting the right clubs for me wouldn't necessarily make me a better golfer, and wouldn't guarantee me a handicap reduction.

But it would mean that I'd hit more good shots, and would enjoy the game more.

Which was about right.

When I got my stuff the pro said something along the lines of..... "I have watched your swing
now go. Piss off. Do not darken my doorstep again. You are putting genuine people off because they think I taught you that"

That's a bit Harsh Clive
       ;)

Oh no.

The pro didn't teach me my swing, he was just laughing about it.

My swing is purely down to the ministrations of Jamie.

I've contacted injurylawyers4U, and they think I've got a good case.

:D

He's a top bloke, don't suppose he could help me too could he? :D ;)

Nothing in my bag is custom fit, just what I had the money to buy at the time.

I did get a driver from Ping recently although I'd hardly say it was custom fit, more like 'the best club I could hit on the day'.

I'd have to be playing off scratch or better before I started worrying whether I should have the lie on my irons adjusted by 1° or not.

He's a top bloke, don't suppose he could help me too could he? :D ;) I know a farmer who could use your help to harvest his wheat. With a swing that agricultural you'd be quicker than his tractor.

I'd have to be playing off scratch or better before I started worrying whether I should have the lie on my irons adjusted by 1° or not. Your first target should be to get some irons that have the heads on the right way round. You could go to a boot sale and pick up a set that's better than yours for about £20
