Not interested in any cheap point scoring between rival supporters but a genuine question from a football lover. From an outside point of view they seem to be a club in turmoil. I watched them over the weekend in the Emirates Cup and they didn't look bad but certainly not a patch on the limited performances I'd seen last season. Their results against Braga though seem to say they aren't capable with mixing with even the lower ecehlons of European competitions. Is it going to be a long and difficult season or is the Braga result going to be a mixed blessing? Is that it for Europe as I'm assuming there is no parachute into the Europa League.

It seems though tha they've let a lot of quality go this summer without really replacing it. Is the SPL really that weak that they can do that and still contend (and get back into Europe next season). Won't this be the start of a continuing circle of qualification and "humiliation" at the qualification stage, mediocrity in the consolation prize (Europa League) and then a repeat the following season.

It just seems, again as a casual southerner observing from a distance, that there doesn't seem to be the same desire as perhaps when Strachan was there. Not saying he was the answer/to blame (delete according to your own viewpoint) but the other top SPL sides seem to be coming from a stronger foundation. Could Hibs, Hearts or another side usurp Celtic and nick the Champions League qualifier next season

This is minority football. Worse than Watford. Less money too. Which is a shame given the size of the fan base.

I was talking to a hoops supporter outside the Emirates on Saturday waiting for a tube home. He was going back to Kings Cross to a hostel to stay over ready for the Sunday game. He was vaguely coherent, which was a suprise, as he had been drinking since 8 AM, it was now 6.30 PM, and he had a plastice bag with 4 more cans of extra strength cider with him as supplies to get him the 3 stops to Kings Cross. Oh, and a packet of crisps in case he needed to eat something. The hoops fans were fantastic all afternoon, really getting behind their team, and to come all the way from Glasgow for two nothing games, and cheer and sing all through, even when they were getting humpeded by Lyons B team, take my hat off.

They deserve a better team to support.

The way Scottish football is now,us and the darksides main goal is to win the league, after that if they somehow manage to scrape through to the league stages of the CL then it is going to be a huge bonus otherwise it is Europa League for them.

Little or in the darksides case no money means pish poor quality of players. Gone are the days of great European nights beating huge teams such as Man Utd,Juventus,Barcalona for both sides of the great divide I am afraid.

I worry for Rangers in the CL,they must be praying for a soft draw otherwise things could be hugely embarassing and we won't make it through the league stages of the mickey mouse league either I am afraid.

Lol, we got a soft draw last year in the CL and look what happened. There's no hope for Rangers in the CL. Absolutely none, we could hand pick teams from the pots and we still wouldn't get through.

To rub salt into Celtics wounds, its now been said that Rangers will get more money from the CL due to Celtics failure to get past this stage.

C'mon the WELL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If Celtic have 50,000 season ticket holders each forking out an average of £400 ... thats £20m FFS !!!!!!

Where is that going?

What really pees me off is when I watch the BBC 6 o clock news on a Sunday and they start the sports bit with "in The Scottish Premier League, Invercallyleaguethistle beat ....." i'ts not football !, it's not interesting! and it dont matter!

Let's just hear who Crystal Palace have trounced and if we are still solvent and then go on to the motor racing!

Try living in Scotland and have to put up with all the english pish before we get ours. None of that is relevant to me.

It would buy Bellamy and pay his wages for a year, thats the gap in TV/Sky money for us I'm afraid.

I'm gonna speak to your nurse and get her to (a) up your medication and (b) retain the crayon ban. The BBC never start a sports news broadcast with the Scottish results or stories. We have to sit through the results from the Premiership, Championship, League 1, League 2, The Conference, the Hovis aye-oop-north league or whatever before getting the results that matter to us. And don't mention the bloody cricket scores. And the weather forecasters always start in the south east with a detailed forecast before saying "it'll chuck it down in Jockoland but that's ok because it 28deg C in London".

And despite all this, do we Scots as a race complain or moan about anything ? Too bloody right we do. And quite rightly so.

Nurse, time for my injections and pills please.

Oops, just realised that my last post didn't mention Celtic at all.

Celtic are now not very good and this is in fact great news for teams like St Mirren who have raided the giants of Cowdenbeath for a manager and 5 players this summer. The Old Firm will be trembling in their boots at the thought of a visit to Greenhill Road (and not just because of the risk of a stabbing or other physical assault)

What do you want the dear Beeb to do? give out the results of the 1974 World cup? Goodness me, your lot got headline news when a bunch of cleaners doing housework at an ice rink accidentaly got mentioned during the Olympic games.

It is vitally important the the weather in the South East is given first - that's where I live and then I can snooze whilst they to the colder regions.

By the way, the wife and I were thinking of a weekend in somewhere called Ed - in - borough in September - is it to be advised?
