Celebs who’ve passed

Roly Howard

Not a celebrity...indeed I'd be surprised if more than half a dozen people here had ever heard of him, possibly only those who live around Merseyside....but worthy of a mention, perhaps more so than many of the 3rd rate celebrities who's names are emblazoned across our media every day.

I appreciate this is a bit of a niche one but Imran Sherwani has died. He was a key member of the GB gold winning hockey team of 1988.

As a hockey player at the time, he was a huge player. He was also central to one of the great sporting commentary quotes from Barry Davies, "Where were the Germans? But frankly, who cares"

63, no age.

Very sad about Robin Smith, I bought the Gray Nicholls bat he used to use….even put on a yellow grip as well. Loved watching him play - alcoholism is a terrible illness.

Echoing the many comments about The Judge….the most beautiful square cut I’ve ever seen, and destructive batsmen at No. 5

Remember seeing him getting hit in the face to bouncer from the Windies pace attack. Barely flinched. Never wore a grill and rarely a helmet….very sad about his struggles post-retirement and his death
