I saw him play with Bootleg Blondie a couple years ago at a small venue - great personality and brilliant that he made guest appearances for what is actually an excellent tribute band.

Star Trek Deep Space Nine had a great tribute to him in creating a character called Morn who just sat at the end of Quark's bar. He was in over 100 episodes and never spoke a word.
There was an urban myth for many years that George Wendt actually dressed up as the alien character for one of them.
