Celebs who’ve passed

Used to listen to him on Radio 1 all those years ago, and then after a lengthy period during which I didn’t really listen to the radio I started listening to his Radio 2 show when I started delivering cars three years ago.

It took me right back to my youth. Great broadcaster, the news of Steve Wright’s passing is an enormous shock.

Listening to R2 at the moment as I do some ironing with Sarah Cox playing Steve Wrights faves…and I happily admit to listening sadly and with more than a few tears in my eyes.

Of late I have only listened to his Sunday Love Songs but I enjoyed it when I listened. But it’s what has gone before over many decades when I did listen to him much more regularly that is really pulling at my heart strings.

Its like hearing the passing of someone who was a very good and close friend in times past, but with whom you’ve only been in touch with occasionally more recently.

Very shocked and saddened to hear of Steve Wright's passing.
One of the best radio broadcasters of our time. Will be sadly missed.

Wrighty's characters were part of my yoof. Mr Angry, David Bowie singing the time, Mick Jagger.....all brilliant. I'm genuinely saddened.

RIP Wrighty 😥

This one has slipped under the radar a little but the SA cricketer Mike Proctor has died. Largely missed international cricket due to the sporting ban but had a high quality career at Glos in the 70's and 80's. One of the few top bowlers to bowl chest on, at pace as well.

Superb player. Part of a great Gloucester side. Zaheer Abbas used to rack up the runs and Mike would skittle em out

Sad news about mike Proctor, his bowling was just awesome to watch ,back in the Gillette cup days Mike was a player who could bowl a side out of a game with his lightening deliveries.

I tried bowling off the wrong foot like Proctor in the nets when I was still playing. Nigh on impossible. How he did it with such success at the highest level will always baffle me.

Keith from the Office has died! Ewen MacIntosh. Only 50 years old. His appraisal was one of the best scenes in the show - "what are the options again?" :(
