I had to share this one with you, guys.

I've been keeping an eye on the development of this new course for a couple of years now as it's just along the road from my home town of Nairn.

They're gonna be open for play in July 2009 and have just added a visual tour of the course to their website. Here it is;-

http://www.castlestuartgolf.com/course.html

All I can say is "Wow" to both the course.... and the price, although SGU members & local residents have a discounted rate upon proof of residence.

It's reckoned the course will immediately jump into the top ten list in the UK next year and I can see why. True links golf and true 1800's style links bunkers. You can just imagine a sheep hunkering down in those.

So if anyone fancies starting to save now for a fourball, give me a shout! Better than Kingsbarns? Looks like it already.

Wow, It looks out of this world, I so envy the Scots for the golf courses they have, I really do.

£225 for a day ticket.

First place I have ever seen that have advertised caddys for hire.

I can see me playing here in the next couple of years most definitly. I wonder if they'll get on the 2 fore 1 :D

Looks absolute Quality John.

The First Par 5 and Par 3 had me drooling!

Imagine the joy of reaching that in two!

Not a bad deal for locals for somewhere that good though!

Anybody fancy getting a flatshare???

£90 if you're a member of the SGU, Harv, which all members of Scottish golf clubs are. Still not cheap, but....

I got the SGU rate at Kingsbarns when I played there and that was only £68. Normally £130, I think. Same owners and designers, though.

It would be a bit of a treat some day, and yes, Andy, I had you in mind for a wee trip! One day, eh?

Looks great and talking to a few folk recently they do think it will be better than Kingsbarns which is IMO vastly overated and priced, nice track with great views but just very 'plastic' looking with some poor holes (1st and last spring to mind). Will have to see if I can do what I did to get my cheap rate round here like I did at KB,mates name, mate Scottish golf club, mates utility bill etc hey presto cheaper golf! ;)

John count me in also m8 would love to play it.

Maybe we could do a review for GM on the side, save them the trouble of sending someone all that way. :o

Bloody hell John, putting that up has made me wish I still lived in Forres, I used to work about a mile down the road from castle stewart, they havent been long building this, its not even on the google earth version Ive got yet.

That is one course I am going to have to get to visit, it looks beautiful.

Don't flame me after reading this!

I dont like links golf but that looks amazing! Cant wait to hear the reports from playing it.

I would be tempted by that bit of golf pornography!

Dodger while I agree Kingsbarns is an over-rated track I have to disagree on your assessment that the last is a poor hole! I thought it was a great last hole.

What about an overnighter, play Boat or Spey Valley on the following day just to break up the drive!!!!

Craw I just hate holes that you canny see where you are going from the tee and think the green is a bit severe considering you are likely to be landing anything from a rescue to a 5 iron on it.

Anyway I will agree with the fact an overnighter with Spey Valley would be a superb golf porn type break! ;)

Handicap Certificates level rules me out. Looks a beast!

Black: By approval in golf shop
White: 9 or below
Green: 10 or above
Red: Seniors & Ladies

Nice course and will obviously be a beauty to play but I couldn't justify the cost in these climates (HID unemployed, travel costs etc). I am jealous of you guys in Scotland because you simply have the best courses in the British Isles for views, value for money and variety. Shame you don't always get the weather but that would mean you have all died and gone to heaven!
