Just moving this from the I played today thread.

Thanks for the advice that a card that is completed in the Comp must be submitted for HC purposes even if I've been DQ'd for not signing it.

Any links to the rules that you can suggest I read up on please?

Just seen the results and the bloke who deals with the cards happens to be the winner with me being DQ'd! LoL.

Also, what cut should I get. CSS was 74, gross 79, hcp currently 10.6. How do i work it out please? I've never learnt this before.

Thanks, it it always x0.2 no matter what gross, net etc?

Depends on your category.

Cat 1 (0 - 5.4) means 0.1 off for every shot below H'cap
Cat 2 (5.5 - 12.4) means 0.2 off for every shot below
Cat 3 (12.5 - 20.4) means 0.3 off
Cat 4 (20.5 - 28.4) means 0.4 off
Cat 5 (!!)( 28.5 - 36) means 0.5 off

Remember, this only applies if you are outside your buffer zone

A score is within a player’s Buffer Zone when a Nett Differential is within the following bands for his Handicap Category:
18 Hole 9 Hole
Category 1 0 to +1 36
Category 2 0 to +2 35-36
Category 3 0 to +3 35-36
Category 4 0 to +4 34-36
Category 5 0 to +5 34-36
Category 6 0 to +6 34-36
When a player’s score is within his Buffer Zone his Exact Handicap remains unchanged

Reduction
Cat 1 - 0.1
Cat 2 - 0.2
Cat 3 - 0.3
Cat 4 - 0.4

Cat 5 - 0.5
Cat 6 - 0.6

When a player’s handicap is to be reduced so that it goes from a higher Handicap Category to a lower Handicap Category, it must be reduced at the rate appropriate to the higher Category only so far as brings his Playing Handicap into the lower Handicap Category and the balance of the reduction shall be at the rate appropriate to the lower Handicap Category

For Example: If a player with an Exact Handicap of 21.2 returns a score with Nett Differential of -6 i.e. 6 strokes below his Playing Handicap of 21, his Exact Handicap is reduced as follows: 21.2 - (2 x 0.4) = 20.4 20.4 - (4 x 0.3) = 19.2

Thanks for the replies, very helpful. I spoke to the main club and they agreed it should be used for hcp. So I'm now 9.4! A single figure golfer for one round then back up to 10 I expect! ha ha.

I had replied on the Played today thread with the appropriate CONGU UHS references

But I see that the club has changed their view anyway.

Well done Ash, you can give me a few more shots now next time we meet 😜🏌️

Wasn't he your protege; I'd blame the trainer.......

Great score round there Ashley, well played.

He split from me like a pro drops his caddy, only himself to blame as I hadn't got to "signing the card" as he was still stuck on "are we off yellows or white" 😁

cheers mate. ive found since joining tha the course suit a leftie on many holes and if the wind is in the right direction it becomes easier.
