Can irons bought off the shelf get custom fitted after 6 months?

Hey guys as the title says I bought clubs off the shelf about 6 months ago but now I'm begging to think I should of got them custom fitted I'm 6' 2 and was wondering if intake them somewhere can adjustments be made for length etc? I've heard pros talking about plugging them to make the shaft longer has anyone heard of this? I'm in Manchester so if anyone can recommend somewhere I'd appreciate it!

a number of adjustments can be made to irons - not quite custom fitting, more retro fitting....

The biggest problem may be adjusting the lie as cast irons can only be moved very small amounts

Your Wilson ci9 iron can be easily fitted to you, from loft, to lie and length, your grip can also be sorted to. The only thing we are unable to change in a fitting session is the shafts.
You can be advised on another shaft that may suit better, but you may find it quite expensive to reshaft your current irons. Pop into your local pro or see a good pro at a dguk or ag.

I had my di11's plugged 1" longer by the pro I bought them off for £3 a club , he blow the grips off and put the same ones back on, they are suited to me a lot better now I'm 6ft 5 and if you excuse the cliche 1" has made a massive diffrence as before I had them extended I was hitting straight right most shots, the only thing I couldn't get done was the lie adjusted as them being the wide tip (fatshaft) but fortunately standard lie is fine for me.
