Can anyone recommend a good ISP?

You're lucky.

Bob.
I'm not getting those speeds mate. They would be impossible.
Just showing the stupid results I'm getting when I test the speed of my line.
A few more taken this morning...

See how you get two insanely fast results, followed by one that looks "normal" then another stupidly fast one.
Somethings not right somewhere and it's driving me mad.
Apparantly, at those higher speeds I can download an mp3 file in 1 second, a 35mb video clip in 3 and an 800mb movie in 51 seconds!! It would be lovely if I was getting those speeds, but my machine crawls along at a snails pace most of the time.
Speedtest.net is a reliable method of testing your line speed. When I was with AOL & Sky I regularly checked on there and the results were always consistent with what I was expecting.

At the time of the morning that you are doing these tests there is no other idiot up so the interweave thingy is all yours. It's also too early for any self respecting speed testing site to be working properly so what do you expect?

Try http://resources.zdnet.co.uk/speedtest/ or http://www.mybroadbandspeed.co.uk/

I can carry out those speed tests at "busy" times and they still give me stupid results, so time of day doesn't even come into it.
I have tried the links you posted, and they are both giving me similar "silly" results. My line is capped at 6mb yet they show I am getting a 9mb plus download speed. Not possible on my line mate and certainly not backed up by the speed of page loading or download speeds of files.
