Looks a bit weird to me as well. The mound of turf pushed up by the ball is on the right of the ball, making it look as though the ball must have passed through the flagstick. Also, the writing on the ball doesn’t look right and the dimples are a lot less clear than the blades of grass.

Do we need a ballistics expert to have a look. ?

Got to the feel for the player but at the end of the day being that close or being a foot away still means and extra shot to hole out. The curmudgeonly grumpy old git in me thinks good as I've never had a hole in one and certainly never been that close

Very unlucky for the fella. Funnily enough I had an ace yesterday on our 11th which went in slam dunk style causing similar damage to the hole but obviously my ball fell in. Was my 2nd ace this after after 1 in August
