Hi guys I’m on the market for some new clubs. I am playing little over a year now and for the past 6 months have regular lessons every two weeks. I’m playing at the minute with irons Wilson D-100 5-sw Driver Callaway X2 Hot Hybrid Callaway X2 and 58 degrees Vokey SM4 wedge. I like the look of the Taylor Made Psi, Mizuno MP25, Titleist Ap1 and Nike Vapor Fly Pro. I decided on a driver, which will be Taylor Made M2 same for the 3 wood but not sure about the irons. I’m going tomorrow to American Golf to narrow down to 2 clubs before fitting. What you guys thinking about this clubs.

All OEM clubs will be good but it will always come down to your own personal taste and which clubs give you the best results

Firstly - are you getting fitted by a pro or at AG ?

Fitting will be at the Belfry. Coach I'm having lesson with is going with me. Unless I decide for Mizunos then will be heading to AG with him.

You won't go wrong with the clubs mentioned but I noticed you mentioned AP1 which are more towards the forgiveness and the PSI which are more the players type clubs.

Maybe look at the AP2 instead

Look wise Ap1 is just so much nicer. All 4 of them was chosen on looks. Heading tomorrow to hit all of them hopefully will help me narrow it down. I did not realise buying new clubs will be such a hard decision.

They're going to be your clubs, and you'll be hitting them so it's important that you like the look of them. You need confidence at address so there may be some sort of compromise between looks and numbers during your fitting (then again maybe not if the clubs you think look the best give you the best numbers). You've already picked out clubs that you like so you've made a reasonable start.

The going in with an open mind suggestion is a good one, but also be aware that the fitter may ask you what you actually want from your new irons (distance, workability, forgiveness, more height, less height, more penetrating flight, more spin, less spin, etc)...Worth considering that question a bit before the fitting!

M2 driver, M2 3wood!

What's wrong with the m2 irons!

I like the look of them!

I tried to hit them at lytham golf centre! But now you have to book a slot to hit them with one of the staff on the scope!

Used to be able to just hit on the range on your own,!!!!

Not yet, I wanna try Mizunos and compare with other clubs and Belfry don't do Mizuno.
If don't like them as much as the rest then probably will be booking Belfry for Thursday.

Just got back home from AG. After trying all mentioned Mizunos is out of the picture lovely club but 6 iron was flying same distance as others 7 iron.
As to the rest of them today Psi was performing the best. Was hitting it on average 161 carry and 165 total. Tried as well Ping G very nice clubs but the flight was just a bit to high for my liking same for the AP1. Cannot wait for the fitting

Wouldn't just pick in what flys the furthest...dispersion left to right as well as back to front is more important in my eyes. No point hitting it 10 yards further if you can't hit the target majority of the time.

Hd my Ap1s from the hammers couple of weeks ago. Had a lesson with John down there today who ironed a couple of things out and had me flushing them. They are like golfing porn they are so sexy to look at.

Someone mentioned enjoying the process. That would be my advice also. Spent a few months discussing and trying differerent irons.

Which Mizunos did you try? MP 25s?

When I said best performing I meant distance and dispersion was really good for me. 160 yards it's probably PW forum distance for some people. I was delighted hitting that far with 7 iron.

Yes MP25
