Buffer Club

Well that's two weeks on the trot that I've hit Buffer.

As I can't join the 0.1club I thought I'd start my own, it's a little like when the cool kids are playing football in the playground but never let you join in.

After two medals so far this year I am neither in the buffer club or the 0.1 club.

After 3 qualifiers so far this year I've had 2 buffers and 1RO so I guess I qualify for this club. Frustrating as hell as I know a decent score is hovering just out of reach.

Playing 36 holes at Gullane on Wednesday in a works outing so I'll probably relax and score well there, confirming my alleged bandit status.

Well after the cack I've been playing recently I was chuffed to bits with my 35 points in the Stableford, and with CSS going up one I was bang on handicap so I'm in.

(Oh for those shots I let slip away though, I can think of three without even trying...)

First qualifier of the year for me last Saturday. Results posted today show my gross 81 (with CSS going up 1) saw me make buffer.

if CSS matches SSS this week then its buffer time... if it goes down then its 0.1 for me..

i'm in, though a nice start of 7 points after 2 holes (12 after 4) meant that I was already spending the proshop money for winning the comp and only very slowly and agonisingly slid back towards buffer.

since you ask, it was topped off by nestling in an inch deep divot on the 18th fairway, and getting that out only to land in GUR off the fringe resulting in a drop onto a steep downslope behind the green and not chipping close enough to hole for par.

Shot 102 (79) first attempt then 93 (70) CSS 70 last Thursday. (3rd in div 3)

Practice round tonight ready for another crack on Saturday....

0.8 cut in my first medal. Missed 3rd prize in the sweep (for category) on countback, DB at the last. Still, I got a cut. :whoo:

Two lots 0.1 for me, then a buffer and then two cuts of 1.3 and 0.9. Add to this winning the captains drive in (non-qualifier)
