Breakthrough Pro 2017

Noren's a good shout, and surely Matsuyama has to be a consideration for a potential Major or two. Finished 2016 on one hell of a run, he's a serious talent.

I got the wrong end of the stick with my original response but my major breakthrough pick for this season would be Rafa Cabrera-Bello. Finished the year really strongly, one of the few Europeans to come away from the RC with credit and has very sneakily made the top 30 in the world. I'm expecting him to be a major competitor now on the global stage.

I like Rafa as a player. Seem very calm under pressure, and has enough game to get it done.

Would love to see him continue his form into next season. He's from my club, I haven't seen him much around the course, but what I have seen looked very impressive

I used to play quite a bit with Blandy when he was at Dibden, even marked his card when he shot a course record! You won't see much of him at Stoneham these days as he has moved up nearer to Heathrow, spends most of his 'downtime' at the Wisley now.

Although well known and established, I think this could be Reeds year. Breakthrough in terms of Majors and where he sits as one of the worlds best.

Also, this is pretty much a make or break year for Woods, so for phase 2 (or is it 3?) I think this is a breakthrough year for Woods 2.0.

Finally, Paul Dunne - I think he needs to break through or is in danger of having his potential not realised.

Nicolas Colsaerts for me showed signs of a return last year and after that round with Westwood in the Ryder cup too good to fall by the wayside and not win something.

Incredible comment, he managed to retain his tour card after coming through Q School in 2015, i don't think many people realise how tough that is to do. Admittedly now he will get in all events its time to kick on this year
